ONE-ON-ONE JOURNALING

At SYME we don’t just teach English, we live it. Each week students will use English to write a message in a journal to one of their teachers. That teacher will continue the conversation by responding to them on the following pages. Every student will have the opportunity to discuss different topics and learn from their teacher with their personal one-on-one journal.

Quiet Time Devotional

Discipleship happens every day as you take new steps in your faith. That process is founded on one thing; God’s Word. As you study it, understand it, memorize it, and apply it to your life. To help our students build spiritual habits in their lives every student is given a Word of Life Quiet Time devotional. This is a daily devotional tool that connects to a specific passage of Scripture each day and challenges you with two questions; “What is the writer saying?” and “How can I apply that to my life?” We’ve built uninterrupted time into our schedule each day to allow students time to do their Quiet Time.

FAMILY TIME & ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNERS

Growing is tough! And it’s even harder to do alone. Every morning students at SYME meet in small groups led by a teacher. Known as Family Time, this is the perfect start to every day. A time to talk, ask questions, and build relationships with each other, all centered on the Word of God. Additionally, at SYME every student has an accountability partner assigned to help them keep growing in order to be a better student and person.

CHAPEL & BIBLE CLUB

Every day students will take a break from classes to come together before lunch to worship and learn about God. Students will use English to sing songs, perform short skits, and listen to God’s Word being preached. At Bible Club students will lead their own version of the program in English! This will help prepare the students for using English in the work world.

lIFE ON LIFE

At SYME, students can take advantage of the chance to live with teachers. That means spending countless hours with believers who’ve studied the Word of God and come to serve in missions. Go out for bubble tea, take a scooter ride, show your teacher how incredible Taiwan is! It’ll take your English to the next level and maybe you’ll just make a lifelong friend. Remember, it’s not just the classroom that changes lives but living in community together!
